How this all began.....
Why balance? What makes a balance day? Why would this even matter?
For years I have struggled with health issues. On the outside I physically looked healthy, but on the inside everything felt off. Painful periods, massive heartburn, brain fog, exhaustion, adult acne, chronic sinus issues, and just knowing in my heart my health was not okay led me to now.
After going in for a MRI because of my brain fog issues I was told that I showed inflammation in my sinuses and was diagnosed with chronic sinusitis. When you suffer from heartburn your body naturally produces more mucous so heartburn and chronic sinusitis go hand in hand. This made total sense to me, but what did not make sense to me was to be prescribed medications to simple treat my symptoms and not solve the real cause.
After trying the doctors route of meds, and having them not fix the problem, I started to dig deeper and do some research of my own. What I found during my years of research was shocking. Years of living what I thought was a healthy life no longer worked. The amounts of sugar I had consumed my whole life had caught up to me and the internal inflammation and over growth of yeast had been slowly destroying my health.
I needed to change and I needed it badly. Where to even start? Well I took it one day at a time. I changed my daily two sodas a day down to one, then down to just carbonated water, then found the absolute best replacement ever!
The next change was to slowly remove all other inflammation causing foods from my diet. Figuring out the right balance each day to do all this and still feel like I was living a life that did not feel like I was being deprived took time. I still work on learning new information and making tweaks to my lifestyle.
The great news is……..
It’s working!! All my knowledge put into practice is working. Not only that but it is helping others to improve their health as well! Once I had results I felt absolutely compelled to share what I had done. So many of us struggle with not feeling well. When the answer can be as simple as nutrition. Exercise is important as well, but I exercised like crazy and was in great shape and it was NOT until I changed the food and beverages I was consuming that I finally started to heal and feel better.
Let me also be clear, I am not living a super strict diet that confines me to stay home and never enjoy a night out. I live in balance. Most of the week I follow the plan more strictly, then if there are special events I know I can still lean towards foods I know will be the best while splurging here and there within moderation.
What works for me may not work necessarily for everyone, but the main concepts of living healthy will make a difference. I also do not believe in “cheat days”. I am not a cheater. I chose to live a Balance Day Life so on my day of enjoying what I like in moderation it is a full Balance Day. Balancing out life is the key to happiness. No one wants to live a life of “I can’t have that I’m on a diet”. When you give yourself the power to chose what you consume you can live and enjoy the day.
Final share with you is that I no longer take any prescribed medications. My health issues are all kept in line by eating the right foods for me and avoiding the ones that don’t. Once you know how good your body can feel it is hard to go back to eating the junk that made you feel sick in the first place. Our bodies are so smart in telling us when things are not ok, we just need to be aware and listen.
